A little story about how this painting came to be: Bob Berlind had renovated an old barn to be a spacious studio with big white walls, a coal stove, sky lights, a wood shop, and plenty of storage. Years after he died, the studio remained almost untouched. CDs, books, brushes, canvases, tools, etc, all around as if Bob would be getting back to work. I started working in his studio in 2018, when I was also working at the plant nursery across the street, Wild Yarrow Farms. This painting started as one of Bob’s paintings. He had only primed the linen surface. But he had a plan, I’m sure. And my only plan was to feel comfortable not knowing.
